Description:

Drive technical sales, trials and development of lime, hydrated lime and limestone opportunities in the Environmental Market with a primary focus on Air Pollution Control. Work closely with the sales and marketing group on targeted customer development activities. Provide technical support and product functionality expertise to customers in the application & use of MLC products. Generate & lead product trials for existing as well as potential new customers. Maintain and make continuous sales calls on a list of key technical contacts at customers.

Qualifications/Experience:

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or other related engineering/science fields. Masters Degree or PhD preferred but not required.
Minimum of 3 -10 years technical service or other technical experience
Excellent communications skills in both small and large group settings.
Position has significant customer interaction and strong interpersonal and technical selling skills are critical.
Proficient understanding of inorganic chemistry, industrial processes and material handling equipment
Proficient in statistical data analysis and technical reporting  Team player able work with both MLC and customer organizations.
Results oriented, self starter that proactively seeks opportunities and drives activities. Essential Functions of Position Make ongoing technical customer contact in support of new customer development activities in the Environmental and Air Pollution Control markets. Provide technical support and product functionality expertise to customers in the application & use of MLC products.. Support customers in troubleshooting and improving customer processes Drive the sales of new products. Lead new customer product trial efforts. Develop and implement a trial plans. Capture and report key technical and commercial conclusions from trials. Support the customer through the early phases of product use. Become a active member of key industry organizations. Drive MLC interests from a technical perspective. Present technical papers at key industry conferences. Support development of new applications for current lime, hydrated lime and limestone products. Responsible for conducting key applications studies. Support the New Product Development team. Provide applications support and understanding to the team in order to create and refine next generation of products to meet the needs of our customers for future technologies. Develop in depth understanding of Environmental applications Maintain and make continuous sales calls on a list of key technical contacts at customers. Use technical contact to drive new sales opportunities. Become an expert in lime physical and chemical properties as they relate to customer specifications and application requirements. Act as project manager on key commercial projects as assigned. Position will require travel at an estimated 40 - 70% of time. Perform other duties as assigned.
