[Company] is a global environmental services company with a growing presence in the U.S. The company has been present in the U.S. since 2004 and has grown significantly over the last 5 years, through organic growth and acquisitions. We currently operate a network of treatment and recycling plants in the U.S. processing over 500,000 tons a year, reclaiming valuable products using a range of advanced processes and technologies. The company owns and operates the Norlite facility, located in Cohoes, NY. This facility extracts shale from its quarry for processing at its two rotary kilns, to produce an expanded shale product sold as Light Weight Aggregate to the construction sector. The facility uses waste to fuel its process.
This is an hourly paid position that includes shift differential. The work schedule for this position is 42 hours per week, and the
scheduled work hours are: Thursday 1:00 a.m. through 7:00 a.m. and then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - 7:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.


The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining production and quality of Kiln Plant Equipment by completing preventive and predictive maintenance as needed, i.e. Baghouses, LGF Fuel Systems, Scrubbers, and Coolers etc.; the operation of Waste Water Treatment Plant; and for diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Individual will also operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts and complete tasks as needed; perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment will continue to run smoothly; make corrections and repairs necessary to follow MSHA requirements; and other duties as assigned. Overtime is expected, but not limited to weekends, shutdowns, etc.; and prior experience with mobile equipment is a plus


A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of 40 hour Hazwopper training and 24 hour New Miner
Training (Part 46) (training will be provided) is required. The successful candidate must be able to pass physical, drug, and alcohol screening, and be able to lift up to 50lbs. The selected candidate must be detail oriented and production minded; have the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts; and have the ability to read, understand, and apply common operational documents, SOP’s, and training modules. Upon completion of training, the selected candidate will be required to join the union.
