About the role

[Company] is seeking a Nitrates Procurement Specialist in Denver, CO.
The Procurement Specialist will coordinate, plan and execute of Nitrates procurement for the America region (North, Central and South America) are the key responsibilities of this role. The main commodity managed is Ammonium Nitrate, but Ammonia and Natural Gas are also part of this category. The scope of this role range includes elaboration of procurement strategies, negotiations with suppliers, daily management of suppliers’ performance, resolution of delivery/quality issues and preparation of reports/analysis to support business decisions. Also, as the only member of the Nitrates Procurement team in the Americas, this role acts as the focal point for interactions with suppliers and [Company] customer facing teams in the region.

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for:

Nitrates Procurement Strategy (40%)

Understand Nitrates market forces globally, but specially in the Americas region – including main customers and competitors
Understand [Company] business strategy, challenges and opportunities in the Americas
Maintain relationship with major suppliers in the region and understand their capabilities, SWOTs and performance records
On regular basis propose Procurement strategy that maximize results for the business and mitigate risks/exposures
Implement Procurement strategy, through negotiation with suppliers and heavy interaction with stakeholders in the region (e.g. Sales/Marketing, Supply Chain, Legal)
End to end management of procurement process: from capturing demand to execution of contracts and implementation on the field
Alignment with other regions to maximize synergies and results for all the group Globally
Negotiate spot purchases

Supply Continuity Management (40%)

Manage performance of contracts/spot orders
With supply chain team, lead resolution supply crisis, shortages and delivery issues
Commercial management quality issues and claims with suppliers
Implement contingency plans and risk mitigation actions

Analysis (20%)

Keep track of historical, current and forecast costs/prices and demand
Ad-hoc reports and analysis
Regular reporting of results, contract management and market assessment

Job Requirements

Experience & Qualifications Required

Bilingual in Spanish preferred
